One platform for Australian retail, priced in AUD
Sell online, over the counter and for click-and-collect from one catalog — with pricing in Australian dollars and a transaction record built for a BAS quarter rather than a European tax year.
Australian Taxation Office (ATO) · Australian Consumer Law
What Australian law asks of you
Australia has no fiscal-device mandate: there is no certified cash-register seal to buy and no live feed to the tax office. What it has instead is a documentation and reporting regime, and the burden of proof sits with your records.
GST registration above A$75,000
GST is 10%. You must register once your GST turnover reaches A$75,000 in a twelve-month period (A$150,000 for not-for-profits), and you may register voluntarily below it.
Business Activity Statements
A registered business reports GST collected and GST paid on a BAS — monthly, quarterly or annually depending on turnover. The figures come out of your own sales and purchase records, which is why the quality of those records is the whole exercise.
Tax invoices on request
For a taxable sale of A$82.50 or more including GST, you must give the buyer a tax invoice within 28 days of their asking. It has to carry your identity and ABN, the date, what was sold, and the GST amount or a statement that the total includes GST. From A$1,000 it must also identify the buyer.
Five years of records
Records explaining your transactions must be kept for five years, in English or in a form readily convertible to it, and must be available if the ATO asks.
One price, GST included, to consumers
Where you advertise a single price to consumers, the Australian Consumer Law requires the total price including GST to be at least as prominent as any component of it.

What MyShopie gives you today
Australia asks you to document and report rather than to transmit, which is a regime a well-kept commerce platform answers directly.
- Priced and invoiced in Australian dollars Currency and timezone are set per store, so an Australian store quotes, charges and invoices in AUD on Australian trading days — not in euros converted at the point of sale.
- An invoice for every paid order A PDF invoice is generated automatically when an order is paid, from an invoice template you control as HTML — your layout, your fields, your wording.
- A record of who did what Every order carries a timestamped event trail. In-store handovers record the operator, the location and the device, and the POS logs every price override, every void and every cash movement in or out of the drawer.
- One catalog across online and in-store Multi-location inventory with per-location stock, transfers between locations, and stocktakes with their own audit trail — so the figures you report come from one set of books, not two.
- Numbers you can hand to an accountant An analytics dashboard over orders, revenue, top products and customers, so the month you are reporting is a query and not a reconstruction.
